The Human Development report brought out annually by UNDP, with a core-theme to be of topical relevance and interest, has created a sustained interest, the world over. Developed and developing nations alike use it as a measure of development, over and above the traditional GNP, to plan for future development.

The State Human Development Report of Rajasthan was launched in 2002. It provides a profile of gaps in development outcomes and attainment across districts.
